Application Enablement

• Improved Search for Assets and Devices

  We’ve replaced the legacy full-text search with a more accurate wildcard-based search. Results are now more predictable and relevant, matching names that contain your search term. Note that searching by external IDs, descriptions, and types is no longer supported. If you need full-text search functionality, contact support or disable the ui.search.wildcard feature flag.

• Upcoming: Enhanced Global Time Context for Dashboards New time configuration options give you greater control over how data is displayed:

  • Live Mode – A dynamic rolling window that auto-refreshes with the latest data using preset or custom relative ranges.
  • History Mode – Fixed time windows for analyzing past trends, with support for specific dates and grouping by intervals such as hourly or daily.
  • Saved Defaults – Save time settings as dashboard defaults so users immediately see data in their preferred context.

• Private Preview: AI-Enabled HTML Widget Transform ideas into functional widgets through natural language. The new HTML widget, now migrated to Angular along with AI-HTML enhancement plugin, supports:

  • Instant widget generation from plain-language prompts.
  • Easy refinement via follow-up prompts or direct edits.
  • Seamless integration into dashboards without technical setup.

• AI-Agent Manager – Public Preview Cumulocity users are now able to build and deploy AI agents without coding. The new AI Agent manager allows for:

  • Intuitive creation and configuration.
  • Centralized management of multiple agents.
  • Leverage of Cumulocity core capabilities like inventory, events, and measurements.
  • Extension of functionality with plug-and-play tools via any MCP server.

• New OpenAPI Documentation Plugin for Digital Twin Manager A new plugin, OpenAPI documentation, has been added to the dtm-plugins extension. It provides interactive documentation for the Assets and Definitions APIs, including details on required permissions. The plugin allows users to browse, visualize, and test API resources directly from the product documentation without needing to implement any logic.

Note that these APIs are currently in Private Preview. To enable them, contact the Product team via product support to have the required feature flags activated.

• And Many More Small Improvements… Based on customer feedback we receive, we’re continually making small (yet significant) improvements to our application enablement like:

  • Limit decimal places in data point graphs and data explorer.
  • Dark theme available for tenants with default branding.
  • Improved syntax highlighting in Monaco and Ace editors.

• New Measurement Tab Easily find and visualize device measurements. The updated measurement tab now adopts the data explorer, making it simpler to locate relevant data points and create meaningful visualizations which is especially helpful when working with large amounts of data points per device.

• OPC UA Integration via thin-edge.io - Public Preview Leverage thin-edge.io to deploy and manage the OPC UA gateway and forward the data to Cumulocity using MQTT. This provides a much larger degree of freedom for routing and transforming OPC UA data while minimizing the effort of operating the OPC UA gateway.

• New thin-edge.io Release 1.6.x In the new thin-edge.io release, the following features have been introduced:
• Diagnostic collection command — A new standardized command for collecting debug information. Users can also extend it by adding custom diagnostic collection plugins to gather data for their own applications.
• Configuration management — You can now control the permissions and ownership of parent folders, improving system security and flexibility.
• Extended HSM support — Seamless certificate renewals are now supported when using the Cumulocity Certificate Authority feature.
