Details
To expand its remote service capabilities and comply with regional data regulations, Hitachi Construction Machinery sought a flexible Industrial IoT platform that could connect equipment globally while adhering to local laws. Traditional approaches made it impossible to collect and act on operational data from machinery in the Middle East, making work efficiency in service operations worse than other regions.
By implementing Cumulocity, Hitachi Construction Machinery developed an adaptable solution supporting regional data hosting, secure device management, and data driven insights. The platform’s open, edge-utilized architecture, robust connectivity, and seamless integration capabilities allowed Hitachi Construction Machinery to maintain compliance while scaling connected services worldwide. Through Global e-Service and ConSite Air, service engineers now have real-time visibility into machine health, performance metrics, and environmental impact.
Machine data (transmitted via mobile) is analyzed to detect anomalies, recommend maintenance actions, and perform software updates remotely. This enables Hitachi Construction Machinery and its dealers to deliver faster, more efficient service while helping customers manage operational costs.
By combining Hitachi Construction Machinery’s expertise in construction equipment with the capabilities of Cumulocity, it is possible to provide customers with proactive fault prevention and remote services, thereby enhancing operational reliability and reducing lifecycle costs.
